Getting Started

What is VoiceMail?

VoiceMail is a voice-controlled email client for iPhone. You can read, reply, compose, delete, and search your emails entirely by voice. Just tap the mic and speak naturally.

Which email providers are supported?

VoiceMail works with iCloud, Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and any email provider that supports IMAP. You connect using your email address and an app-specific password.

What is an app-specific password?

For security, most email providers require you to generate a special password for third-party apps instead of using your regular login password. Here's how to create one:

Free Trial

Is VoiceMail free to try?

Yes! You get 50 voice commands completely free with no subscription or credit card required. This gives you plenty of time to see if VoiceMail works for you.

What happens when my free trial runs out?

After using your 50 free commands, you'll be prompted to subscribe to continue using VoiceMail. You can choose the Lite plan (75 commands/day) or Pro plan (300 commands/day).

The app isn't understanding me correctly. What should I do?

Try speaking clearly and at a normal pace. You can also adjust the "Pause before sending" setting in Settings if the app is cutting you off too early. If you're in a noisy environment, try moving somewhere quieter or using headphones with a microphone.

Subscriptions

How do subscriptions work?

Subscriptions are handled through the App Store and managed by Apple. You can subscribe monthly or annually (save 17% with annual). Cancel anytime from your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Why does VoiceMail require a subscription?

VoiceMail uses OpenAI's AI services to understand your voice commands, summarize emails, and compose replies. These services have per-use costs that the subscription covers.

Can I restore my subscription on a new device?

Yes. Open VoiceMail on your new device, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." Your subscription will be restored automatically as long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID.

Troubleshooting

My emails aren't loading.

Make sure you have an internet connection and that your email credentials are correct. Try removing and re-adding your email account in Settings. If using iCloud, make sure your app-specific password hasn't expired.

The app says "Mic Off" and I can't speak.

Tap the green/red mic button at the bottom to toggle listening on. If the mic button doesn't respond, check that VoiceMail has microphone permission in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy → Microphone.

I'm not hearing any voice responses.

Make sure your iPhone isn't on silent mode (check the physical switch on the side). Also check that your volume is turned up. VoiceMail uses the speaker for voice output.
